| Abstract: | Mineral-resource studies of the Greenhorn Mountain Wilderness Study Area, Colorado, were done and one area of probable tungsten resource potential was identified. Sediment samples from streams draining into South Apache Creek have anomalously high values of tungsten. Although mineralization was not located in the underlying rock, similar rocks elsewhere in Colorado have known tungsten resources. There is little likelihood for the occurrence of oil and gas resources because of the geologic setting of the area and little promise for other mineral or energy resources. |
