Abstract

The Unaka Mountain Roadless Area comprises 7. 3 sq mi on the north side of Unaka Mountain in the Cherokee National Forest in northeastern Tennessee. No metallic mineral or energy resource potential was identified in the Unaka Mountain Roadless Area during mineral surveys. Stone suitable for use as rough building stone and crushed rock is the only identified mineral resource in the roadless area. Abundant stone resources are readily available in the region outside the roadless area.
