| Abstract: | On the basis of mineral-resource studies of the Western Chichagof and Yakobi Islands Wilderness study area, southeastern Alaska, five areas of substantiated mineral-resource potential and four areas of probable mineral-resource potential have been delineated. No energy resource potential was identified in this study. Current knowledge of the detailed geology of the study area is confined to areas adjacent to the wellknown mineral deposits. The remainder of the study area is well mineralized, but the extent of mineralization is inadequately known. Detailed geologic and geochemical studies of the lesser known areas would provide a more complete resource assessment. |
