| Abstract: | On the basis of a mineral survey the extreme southwestern part of the Manzano Wilderness, New Mexico has a probable mineral-resource potential for the occurrence of gold. A sample from one inactive mine in this area yielded concentrations of gold and silver. Other mines and prospects and associated geologic terrane have little promise for the occurrence of additional mineral resources. No other mineral or energy resource potential was identified in the study. |
