Abstract

INTRODUCTION The collection of data on the flow of rivers in Wisconsin started on a continuing basis in 1913. A few streamflow records were started in the late 1800's, one as early as 1888 (Chippewa River at Chippewa Falls). Much of the work has been done under cooperative arrangements between the U.S. Geological Survey and various State and Federal agencies. These data have been published in the form of daily discharge tables, and monthly and yearly summaries.
