Abstract

The area described in this report includes about 3,050 square miles in west-central Maine. Location of the area within the State is shown in figure 1, and a sketch map identifying the 15-minute topographic quadrangles for the study area is given in figure 2. The western boundary is the New Hampshire State line, and the eastern boundary is the Franklin-Somerset County line.
