Abstract

Water-use data for 1981 are summarized for 16 counties in the Southwest Florida Water Management District. Data include total use of groundwater and surface water for each of five water-use categories. The 1981 withdrawals for each category were as follows: 318 million gallons per day for public supply, 64 million gallons per day for rural, 314 million gallons per day for industrial, 595 million gallons per day for irrigation, and 7,680 million gallons per day for thermoelectric power generation of which 6,050 million gallons per day was saline water.
