Abstract

A map of the May 1994 potentiometric surface of the intermediate aquifer system in west-central Florida depicts water levels for the annual low water-level period. Water levels were generally lower than those reported for May 1993. In 135 wells with paired measurements, the May 1994 water levels averaged about 3.84 feet lower than May 1993 levels. The decrease in water leyels during this period was largely the result of below normal rainfall and an increase in demand for withdrawals of ground water.
