Abstract

Field data collected at three sites in Louisiana having multiple-bridge openings were used to check a method of distribution of flow through two or more bridges. Actual peak discharges in the various main and overflow bridges ranged from 878 to 11,055 cubic feet per second (24.9 to 313 m2/s). The error of the computed discharge to the actual discharge ranged between -20 and +6 percent, with the exception of one opening that had an error of +101 percent.
