Abstract
An inventory of geologic mapping in the continental United States shows the areal extent of published geologic maps, differentiated by scales, and gives the results of calculations of the approximate number of square miles geologically mapped in each State on several scales, with separate figures for the maps published since 1919. Several graphs compare the progress of geologic mapping in the different States and in different countries.
