Abstract
The Raymond Peak Roadless Area, 60 mi2 (153 km2) in area, is located at the crest of the Sierra Nevada approximately 13 min (21 km) south-southeast of Lake Tahoe. Markleeville, the seat of Alpine County, lies about 1.5 mi (2km) outside the northeast boundary of the area. The rugged topography of this area is dominated by Raymond and Reynolds Peaks at the south end, and Hawkins Peak at the north end.
